Kevin is a Scottish-Filipino composer of experimental music based in Glasgow. Kevin is interested in silence, fragility, perception, improvisation, collaboration, approaches to listening, and non-standard notation. He is also interested in exploring notions of cross-cultural composition. Kevin participated in Wandelweiser’s Composers Meet Composers 2022 and presented work at KLANGRAUM in 2020. Kevin recently submitted his PhD in composition at the University of Glasgow, where he has worked as Graduate Teaching Assistant on a number of courses since 2017. Kevin has delivered music education projects for Sound Festival, Chamber Music Scotland, and the Scottish Young Composers Project. He is a member of QAA Scotland’s Decolonising Higher Education in the Time of Pandemic as well as New Music Scotland’s EDI board. Kevin co-hosts the practice-research podcast Essential Blends, coordinates The Dear Green Bothy programme of arts and humanities responses to the climate crisis, and runs the experimental music series Sound Thought.
